Idaho Department of Transportation U.S. Highway 26 Bridge Replacement, Gooding, Idaho (Key Number 20005)

ARH was contracted by the Idaho Department of Transportation to complete archaeological and architectural inventories for a one-mile segment of U.S. Highway 26 in Gooding County. ARH recorded four architectural sites, completed Idaho Historic Structures Inventory forms, and produced a report. ARH worked with ITD District 4 and ITD archaeologists to ensure that the project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

End of The World Cultural Resources Inventory, Nez-Perce Clearwater National Forest, Idaho County

ARH was contracted by the Nez-Perce Clearwater National Forest to provide cultural resource consulting services for the End of the World Project, in Idaho County, Idaho.  ARH completed a 3,300-acre survey and conducted subsurface testing at seven archaeological sites to determine NRHP eligibility and refine site boundaries.  In addition to pedestrian survey, ARH completed shovel test probes every 100 acres to test for subsurface deposits. The survey resulted in the recordation of 29 archaeological sites and the completion of a technical report and associated site forms. The project was completed on time and on budget.

Custer Gallatin National Forest CCC Camp recordation

ARH was sub-contracted by another cultural resource firm to complete fieldwork recording and verifying the existence of 18 resources identified as having been constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps within the Custer-Gallatin National Forest. Resources recorded included campgrounds on the shore of Hebgen Lake, trails, cabins, and roads between West Yellowstone and Bozeman, Montana.

Idaho Panhandle National Forests –Emerald National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Data Collection and Analysis, Latah and Shoshone Counties, Idaho

ARH was contracted by Rabbitbrush Archaeological Services to complete a cultural resources inventory for the Idaho Department of Lands and Idaho Panhandle National Forest’s Emerald Project near Clarkia, Idaho. ARH completed an intensive inventory of approximately 4,300 acres in mountainous terrain. Archaeological and architectural features encountered are related to the lumber industry which flourished in the early twentieth century. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
